What the firm handles

Four areas of work. The line under each one describes the situation people are usually in when they need it.

Corporate & Commercial Law

Setting a company up, writing the contracts it signs, and keeping its filings in order.

Incorporation and structuring, contracts, governance, and the day-to-day legal work a company generates.

  • Companies and LLPs
  • Banks and NBFCs
  • Professional firms
  • Directors and promoters

Financial Fraud & Regulatory Matters

Money has gone missing inside a business, or a regulator has written asking questions.

Internal investigations, fraud litigation, regulatory notices and enforcement, and anti-money-laundering compliance.

  • Corporations and banks
  • Financial institutions and NBFCs
  • Audit committees
  • Compliance teams

Intellectual Property

Protecting a name, a logo or work you created, and acting when someone else uses it.

Trademark and copyright filings, licensing and confidentiality arrangements, and enforcement where rights are infringed.

  • Startups and product companies
  • Technology businesses
  • Creators and designers
  • Media and branding agencies

Startup & Technology Advisory

Getting the paperwork of a young company right before an investor asks to see it.

Founder arrangements, incorporation, fundraising documentation, ESOPs, data-protection policies and technology contracts.

  • Founders and co-founders
  • Accelerators and incubators
  • Angel and venture-backed teams
  • Independent product builders

The four areas are one company at four moments

Most businesses do not have a corporate problem or an intellectual property problem. They have one situation that touches several areas at once. The chart below shows when each area is usually involved.

When each area of work is needed

Read left to right as a company grows. A mark means that area is usually involved at that point.

Areas of work against the stages of a company's life
Area of work Starting up Setting the company up Running it Contracts, staff, compliance Raising money Investors and diligence A dispute Something has gone wrong
Corporate & commercial Usually involved Usually involved Usually involved Usually involved
Fraud & regulatory Not usually involved Usually involved Not usually involved Usually involved
Intellectual property Usually involved Not usually involved Usually involved Usually involved
Startup & technology Usually involved Not usually involved Usually involved Not usually involved
Corporate work runs the whole way. The others are needed at particular moments, and most matters touch more than one at once — which is why the four are kept in one practice rather than referred out.

Questions that come up again and again

Written explanations of how a few common legal processes actually work in India. General information, not advice about your own situation.

General,

When to Consult a Lawyer

At what point is a legal problem serious enough to take to a lawyer?

The usual moment to take advice is before a document is signed or a deadline runs, not after a dispute has formed. Legal notices, court summons and statutory replies carry fixed time limits, and the range of available responses narrows sharply once those limits pass.

How to reach the firm

The telephone is the quickest way. If nobody answers, the office is most likely in court; try again later the same day, or send an email.

These details are published as information. Writing to the firm does not by itself make it your lawyer: that happens only once scope and fees are agreed in writing.
